Jazzy filing cabinet
Do you ever have the feeling that all your problems would be solved if only you had a new (fill in the blank)? Housework would be a breeze, a pleasure, if only you had a new vacuum. Oh, the delicious slumber you could enjoy if you just bought those fancy sheets you've been coveting. You would be a paragon of thrift if only you could save your pennies in a new Marc Jacobs clutch . Oh Marc, how you torture me.
It was just such a delusion which led me to this jazzy Mod Podge filing cabinet project. Organization does not come naturally to me, but I started a business recently and soon acquired a collection of paperwork like I've never seen before. It needed a place to live, fast. Our house was beginning to look like those of the OCD hoarders profiled on Obsessed. A filing cabinet would solve all my problems. But I couldn't live with just any filing cabinet. I needed a fancy one. I needed to make one.
I got the idea for this project on the fabulous and inspirational design*sponge in the super cool before & after section. I later found that there are many versions of this craft project online. Here's a great one. I was just tooling around the internet looking for similar projects and I saw something that completely blew my mind. THERE IS A BLOG ENTIRELY DEVOTED TO MOD PODGE PROJECTS!! It's called Mod Podge Rocks , and it's awesome. Miss Amy really loves Mod Podge and I feel her on this. She's kind of my new idol.
So, I think my Mod Podge filing cabinet turned out pretty good. And you know, it has helped me keep better organized. Maybe those irrational longings aren't so absurd after all. Maybe acquiring fancy stuff can solve all our problems. Who am I to say it can't? Later folks, I'm off to Barneys for a new clutch.
Well hello! Thanks for the love. Your cabinet ROCKS! Girl, I need to post this on my blog - stop by and let's chat! :D

I found your blog through Mod Podge Rocks. And your filing cabinet rocks as well!! I have a filing cabinet that I NEED to do this too. Maybe after the baby is born. (yeah, because I'll have time)

Mod Podge totally rocks on these kinds of projects and they're the bestfriend of many DIY-ers out there! My friend once made a project similar when he found his old filing cabinet in his garage. With a little hammering on the dented parts and some application of his design with a Mod Podge, the cabinet looked as good as new!
